The Bridge Trio

CD Release
Tuesday, September 18
Sets at 8:00 and 10:00PM

The Bridge Trio represent a new generation of dynamic jazz musicians emerging from New Orleans - though young, this tight group is seasoned - all three have been working together for several years as the backup band to jazz saxophonist Donald Harrison, and were originally his students.

Drummer Dyson – who is also a gifted composer, began playing drums in a family band at their church even before he attended kindergarten. He has received numerous scholarships, including a Presidential Scholarship to Berklee College of Music and has played and recorded with greats Alvin Batiste, Herlin Riley and Chico Hamilton. Bassist Max Moran apprenticed with legendary clarinetist and pioneer jazz educator Alvin Batiste while still a teen. Now Max continues as Harrison's bassist and also joins New Orleans stars Victor Goines, Herlin Riley, Sean Jones and Delfeayo Marsalis on a regular basis. Conun Pappas is gaining recognition as one of the best young jazz pianists in New Orleans. He recorded his first album, "Oh What A Feeling" in 2008. He went on to record piano on Donald Harrison's 2009 album, "The Chosen", and on Harrison's current release, "Quantum Leap".

Their new recording, "The Bridge Trio" is generating a lot of buzz in the BIg Easy. This is a unique opportunity to find out what hte noise is all about.

Innovation. Exploration. Competition. Revolution. The Evolution Jam Session.

The jam session is the lowest common denominator for any group of artists. One, maybe two words are exchanged. A melody line is plucked out on a piano. Musicians and artists of all kinds clamor to get on stage with their idols and peers. And now, in the style made prominent in the clubs of Harlem with the likes of Thelonious Monk, Charlie Parker, and Dizzy Gillespie, the culture will live on at Zinc Bar every Tuesday at 11:30PM. Come out and experience the mentorship, competition, collaboration, and best of all: the never before heard unique musical enterprises that come of improvisation and innovation. From the most famous musicians, singers, tap dancers to the emerging generation of artists, we invite you to come and experience one of the most essential tools in furthering this generation of music and artistry.
