Zinc Bar's Tribute to Duke Ellington Dr. Gabriel Alegria, conductor Dr Joe DAuguste, guest soloist

An evening of Big Band music featuring the unique Duke Ellington song book. Dr Gabriel Alegria conducts this formidable orchestra that pays tribute to one of the greatest American composers of the 20th century. The repertoire will include gems such as "The Mooche," "Harlem Airshaft," and "Anitra's Dance" as well as the shocking sounds of "Daybreak Express..." a piece of music that will make you feel like you are on an old-school train steaming towards Kansas City.

The orchestra features musicians and faculty from the New Jersey City University jazz studies program. The Line up:
