Lara Bello

Born in Granada (Spain), Lara became interested in performing arts at a very young age, singing and dancing flamenco as well as contemporary dance. At age eight, she started playing roles as an actress, dancer and singer for companies around Spain. She studied violin and singing at the Granada Conservatory of Music and at the same time she received training as Classical Soprano at the The Royal School of Music of London, where she obtained the highest grades. She moved to Barcelona to study modern voice at “Taller de Musics” and voice technique during workshops with Gillyanne Kayes and Ana María Finger. Lara also studied flamenco singing at the Superior School of Flamenco Studies (Granada, Spain). As dancer she has performed with artists like Omar Faruk Tekbilek, Chekkara Orchestra of Tetuán and singer Alabina.

In 2007 she represented Spain at the Jazz Festival Lady Summertime in Finland. With “Voces desde Este Lado” Project (“Voices from This Side”) Lara was selected to participate at the Circuit INJUVE - 2007, event organized by the Ministry of Work and Social Subjects and the Ministry of Culture from Spain. She has taken part in the “Trasnoches” from the Jazz Festivals of Granada, Madrid and Lugo; She also performed in the Festival “Ellas Crean” (“Women Create”) - 2008 organized by the Ministry of Culture. Lara was awarded “Second Prize” in 2009 and “Quotation of Honour of the Jury” in 2008 at the Nacional Songwriting Contest “Cantigas of May”(Ceutí, Murcia, Spain).
