Bassist Andy Galore is a "World" musician by necessity. "I don't want any limits or restraints put on my work," says Galore in describing his approach to music.
Always interested in a variety of styles and musical genres, Galore has striven to incorporate and then expand on all music that has influenced him. In the process, he has developed a very personal voice and an "impressive style and technique combined with a great stage presence" (Village Voice, N.Y.C.).
Galore studied at the prestigious New School University in New York City with Reggie Workman, Buster Williams, Chico Hamilton, Jim Hall and earned a Bachelor's degree in bass. He graduated in 1998 and has received the Billy Sheehan Scholarship Award /Bass Institute of Technology-L.A. California, First Prize Scholarship Award/American Institute of Music-Vienna.
Since then he has performed/recorded with Al di Meola (World Tour 2006), Gavin DeGraw, Kid Creole and the Coconuts, Buddy Miles, Mike Stern, Leni Stern, Jeff Tain Watts, Oz Noy, Jason Lindner, Chico Hamilton, David Budway, K.J. Denhart, Lynne Timmes, Keith Carlock, Wendy Starland, Erica Cashmen, Arnie Lawrence, Philip Hamilton, Josh Kelley, and many more.
